NG-SURWASH: ISWSC HELD STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT AT UMUOBA COMMUNITY OWERRI NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT

In line with the program Development Objectives (PDO)and guidance from the program Operations Manual (POM) of the NG-SURWASH Program, Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation organized Stakeholders Engagement at Umuoba Community Owerri North Local Government on 19th April 2024.
The Stakeholders Engagement organized by the Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation and coordinated by SPIU under the NG_SURWASH program aimed to garner support and educate the community on the importance of sustainable water supply,Sanitation and Hygiene

**Proceedings:** 
The event commenced with introductions and recognition of dignitaries Such as the President General, Director of Administration and General Services Owerri North Local Government, Headof Department of Health, Owerri North Welfare Leader various head of Organisations and Security personnel’s.

The Sustainable Urban Rural Water Supply Sanitation and Hygiene Officers highlighted the necessity of sustainable water supply, sanitation, and hygiene practices, emphasizing the program’s objectives aligned with community development goals.

Dignitaries, including the President General, expressed support for the NG_SURWASH project, encouraging its implementation in the community.  The Managing Director of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation, Engr Peter Chukwuma, reiterated the program’s significance and urged community support to achieve its goals and Objectives

**Outcome:** 
The community exhibited enthusiasm for the development initiative, evident in the participation and positive feedback received. The event concluded with group photos for documentation purposes, marking a successful engagement session.

**Conclusion:** 
The Stakeholders Engagement served as a platform to foster community involvement and support for the NG_SURWASH program. With key stakeholders endorsing the initiative, the stage is set for collaborative efforts towards sustainable water supply, sanitation, and hygiene practices in Umuoba Community, Owerri North Local Government.event concluded with group photos for documentation purposes marking a successful engagement session.
