ALVANA MODEL SEONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS EMBARKED ON AN EXCURSION VISIT TO ISWSC HEADQUARTERS AND OTAMIRI TREATMENT PLANT.
On February 5th, 2024, students from Alvana Model Secondary School Owerri went on an educational excursion to the ISWSC headquarters and Otamiri Treatment Plant, accompanied by their teacher, Mr. Johnson Ahana. The aim of the trip was to gain practical field experience. Engr. Henry Adiruo, the Head of the Water Services Department, guided them through the significance of water in agriculture. At the Otamiri treatment plant, a resident engineer demonstrated the plant’s equipment, while a Senior Scientific Officer provided insights into the water treatment process, from initiation to distribution. The students gained valuable knowledge about the role of water in agriculture and the water treatment process. The excursion concluded successfully, with a blend of practical knowledge and theory attained.
