USAID’s Engendering Industries, in collaboration with Equimundo, organized a Male Engagement training for Gender Equality from February 19th to February 23rd, 2024.
The primary objectives of the training were to empower both men and women within our organization to contribute equally to our success and to achieve set goals in our organization and society at large. Various topics such as Gender, Sex and allyship were discussed during the training.
Additionally, the training focused on enhancing capacity by increasing the number of facilitators and their competence. It also highlighted the business case for involving men in gender equality initiatives and effective strategies based on global best practices.
The USAID Engendering Industries and Equimundo team were led by Ms. Khumo Mokheti (ISWSC change management coach) and Augustine Kimono.
The five day training involved management, representative from Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Gender & Vulnerable Groups and selected staff of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation. At the end of the training, the delegation made an inspection visit to the ongoing refurbished ISWSC lactation room and were impressed with the level of work done. In recognition of the great done to achieve gender Equality, ISWSC received a certification of achievements which was presented to the MD/CEO
At the conclusion of the training, certificates were issued to the twenty-two staff members who participated in theh USAID’s Engendering Industries Engaging Men for Gender Equality Training of Trainers program conducted in partnership with Equimundo.
