In continuation of the implementation of the Small Town Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (STWASH) program, the acting Managing Director and CEO of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation (ISWSC) Engr Peter Chukwuma conducted a thorough inspection of two of the key facilities within the Corporation. The inspection focused on two vital components—the ongoing facelift of the lactation room and the condition of the payroll unit of the Accounts Department, specifically addressing a section where the ceiling has collapsed.
In line with the USAID’s Engendering Industries’ program for social inclusion, Engr Chukwuma, committed to ensuring the well-being of the Corporation’s staff, took special interest in assessing the new lactation room—a space designed to provide a supportive environment for nursing mothers.
During the inspection, the acting Managing Director and CEO offered valuable suggestions for the rehabilitation of the lactation room. These recommendations encompassed aspects such as optimizing the toilet layout, adjusting cubicle heights, and reconfiguring the overall spacing of the room.
