The Ag Managing Director Engr Peter Chukwuma went on site inspection at Okigwe Regional Water Scheme led by the head of Engineering Engr Boniface Onyeji and the head of Water Services department Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation.
With regards to the inspection, at Okigwe Area Office the entrance pathway that was previously used has been fenced off by our neighbours who owns the land.
According to the Zonal Manager, the iyiechu intake station was inaccessible,Completely Vandalized and abandoned.
The Managing Director and his team Work moved down to Okigwe booster Station. At the booster Station, the Civil defence resident Officer took the Ag Managing Director round and it was discovered that the Station has Suffered serious theft as well which left some Items like the generator sets and pumps nonfunctional and it was also discovered that the Control panels has been vandalised.
Furthermore, The Ag Managing Director and his leading teams Visited the AmuroWater Scheme. At Amuro intake booster Station, all the facilities including the entrance gate has been stolen by vandals and the entire Scheme was totally Vandalised as a result of insecurity Occurrences at the region which Sacked a few military officers resident at the Scheme gave advantage to this vandals to perpetuate their act.
