In swift continuation of the implementation of the Performance Improvement Action Plan (PIAP) activities and the PDO for the concluding quarter of Year 2 of SURWASH program, the Rapid Response Team (RRT) of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation (ISWSC) successfully repaired a critical 2-point leakage within the World Bank area.

The burst pipe, located after Chidos Supermarket, Ideal Suite Junction, in close proximity to the driving school, was quickly identified and addressed following a timely complaint from a vigilant member of the public. The responsive action taken by ISWSC reflects the Corporation’s dedication to addressing water supply challenges promptly and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential services to the public.

Led by the Head of the Department of Water Services, Engr Henry Adiruo, the Rapid Response Team’s mobilizing to the scene on Thursday, 30 November 2023, after a vigilant member of the public drew the attention of the Corporation, not only showcased RRT’s technical expertise but also highlighted the importance of citywide collaboration in ensuring the proper functioning of essential public infrastructure.

Engr Adiruo, while overseeing the repair operations, expressed his gratitude to the proactive management of the Corporation and extended appreciation to Governor Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for their unwavering support. He further noted that their prompt intervention ensured that excellent service delivery in terms of safely managed water supply was immediately reinstated to the affect area.

The Corporation encourages the public to continue reporting issues promptly, as their vigilance plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the water supply infrastructure across the state.
