The 2023 International Water Conference, an esteemed gathering which focused on “Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Governance in Nigeria: Rethinking Strategies and Strengthening Policies,” reached its successful conclusion yesterday, September 14th, after four days of intense discussions and deliberations. Hosted in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the conference brought together a diverse assembly of sector professionals, investors, development partners, academia, and government officials.
Engr Emeka Ugoanyanwu, the Managing Director and CEO of the Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation (ISWSC), played a pivotal role as a renowned panelist during the event. Engr Ugoanyanwu, a distinguished fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE) and the pioneer Chairman of the Imo State Chapter, shared his expertise and insights to contribute to the conference’s vibrant exchange of ideas.
As the event came to a close, Engr Ugoanyanwu extended his heartfelt congratulations to those newly inducted into the honorary fellowship and fellowship cadre of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE). Also conferred with the honorary fellowship of the institution was the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission Mrs Funke Adepoju.
