In a dynamic stride towards the continuation of the implementation of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIAP) activities and the PDO for Q2, Imo State Water Corporation (ISWSC) recently sponsored five of its adept minds for an enlightening 2-day training programme. This intensive workshop themed “Application of EPANET: For Pipe Network Design, Analysis, and Reticulation System” was orchestrated by Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE) in partnership with Nigeria Society of Engineers and WASSER & BAU Ltd.
Held at the prestigious FUTO Public Procurement Research Centre (FUTO-PPRC), Owerri, the training emerged as a collaborative effort to enhance expertise in the construction and rehabilitation of water systems infrastructure. The ISWSC team comprising Engr Ugochukwu Ubadire, Surv Peter Okafor, Emenike Obiukwu, Head Risk Resilience and Emergency Response; Engr Nnamdi Nwabueze, Head Non-Revenue Water; and Emmanuel Okorie, High Works Superintendent (Civil) Orlu Zonal Office wholeheartedly embraced the learning journey, positioning themselves at the forefront of cutting-edge practices.
The training curriculum spanned a gamut of vital aspects, including layout plan of pipe network system, design of pipe network and supply system, fluid sources, storage and collection, dimensioning and hydraulic calculation, and demand calculation.
With dedication and enthusiasm, the ISWSC team delved into these courses, uncovering novel insights and innovative approaches. Their proactive engagement reflects their capacity building and commitment to shaping a more sustainable and reliable water infrastructure, contributing to improved livelihoods and fostering a thriving community.
The Managing Director and CEO of ISWSC Engr Emeka Celestine Ugoanyanwu expressed his delight in his team’s active participation in this transformative training.
