In major continuation of the implementation of the Performance Improvement Action Plan (PIAP) and the PDO for Q2, ISWSC Tender Board recently convened a meeting to deliberate on the selection of consultants for Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and Abbreviated Resettlement Action Plan (ARAP) projects. These projects are aimed at ensuring sustainable development and minimizing social impact.
The Board received four proposals from prominent consultants for the Category B Project, each presenting their unique approach to address environmental and social concerns. After rigorous analysis and deliberation, the following two consultants were shortlisted for further consideration Saint Global Services Nigeria Ltd and Planetcare & Environmental Solutions Ltd. The decision was based on their extensive professional experience and expertise in ESMP and ARAP development for World Bank-assisted projects, alongside with their well-detailed and appropriately signed financial proposals.
During the meeting, an emphasis was placed on fostering synergy to streamline the preparation and adoption of expression of individual documents outlining the project’s requirements. This collaborative approach is designed to facilitate a smoother bidding and procurement process.
A noteworthy resolution emerged regarding the payment structure for the shortlisted consultants. The Board collectively agreed that payment would be made upon the successful completion of the projects. This strategic approach not only incentivizes consultants to deliver high-quality results but also ensures adherence to project timelines, bolstering accountability and project success.
The meeting, which commenced at 3.00 PM, was concluded at 4.00 PM, showcasing the committee’s efficiency in addressing vital matters.
The next steps include inviting the shortlisted consultants, Saint Global Services Nigeria Ltd and Planetcare & Environmental Solutions Ltd, for further discussions to clarify their proposals and establish a stronger understanding of their capabilities.
