In line with the 2023 Performance Improvement Action Plans (PIAPs) activities and the PDO of the NG-SURWASH programme, the Management of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation (ISWSC) recently conducted a comprehensive review of checklists of activities.
Presided over by the esteemed Managing Director/CEO, Engr Emeka Ugoanyanwu, the meeting focused on verifying crucial aspects of the NG-SURWASH programme, particularly those concerning water quality and sanitation. The main agenda of the review centred around meticulously evaluating checklists spanning the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases aimed at strengthening adherence to the Programme Appraisal Manual (POM) guidelines, which play a pivotal role in ensuring top-notch water quality and sanitization practices.
During the review, several key areas were highlighted, underlining the significance of water quality and sanitation initiatives in the NG-SURWASH programme. In response, the ISWSC Management has laid out a compelling series of actions to be taken to further enhance the Corporation’s avowed commitment in the SURWASH sector.
Meanwhile, the meeting received a report from the SPIU representative Mrs MaryTeddy Ononogbo, who informed the participants that, following the successful implementation of DLI soft components in the last quarter, the state has been credited with funds, thereby waiting for the kickoff of the implementation of physical infrastructure of the SURWASH project.
