In continuation of implementation of activities outlined in the first quarter of the Corporation’s Performance Improvement Action Plan (PIAP) reflected in Essential Elements Urban Water Supply UWS3a, UWS 4a, and Urban Sanitation USan 3a, and in line with the Program Development Objectives (PDO) of the NG_SURWASH, the MD/CEO ISWSC Engr. Emeka Ugoanyanwu FNSE FNIWE NPOM FOSHA KSJI launched the ISWSC WEBSITE, WEBApp AND 24/7 INTERNET Service AT HEADQUARTERS AND OTAMIRI WTP on 29th March 2023.

The Managing Director expressed the critical importance of these activities to the successful implementation of the SURWASH program in imo state. He remarked that as part of the Corporation’s service improvement plans, the management has continued to initiate and implement activities to enhance operational efficiency and customer engagement. Therefore provision of 24/7 internet service at the head office and Water Treatment Plant, development of ISWSC Website and progressive WebApp are to ensure effective management, efficient real-time water treatment/surveillance and robust customer relations. In the present fast-moving and interconnected world, having a dependable and quick web connection is a high priority for organisations like ISWSC that rely heavily on technology and digital platforms to enhance regular and periodic reporting. The Managing Director was pleased to announce the launch of the new Website and Internet Services that are available round the clock. He called on staff to take advantage of these services to improve themselves and service delivery especially in the area of Monitoring & Evaluation, Monthly reporting and Customer Service.

In their responses, the Heads of all Departments and Units expressed immense gratitude to the MD/CEO who has been steadfast at achieving these set goals and objectives. They all individually emphasized on the merits and importance of proper use of the website to carry out ISWSC activities and also promote the corporation’s philosophy and core values.

The Head of the ICT Unit Mr. Chris Anyanwu and the ICT Consultant Mr. Mgbokwere Odinaka both spoke on the operations of the new internet system. It is characterized by the Homepage/default menu, Backpage, Services, News, Media, Customer page, and Contact page. The (7)seven phases are the basics on which the Corporation’s internet service operates.

The PIAP Team Lead Engr. Henry Adiruo commended the Managing Director and Staff of the Corporation for achieving the launch of the Website Web-app and Internet Services. He further mentioned that the Corporation have achieved 90% of its first-quarter activities as outlined in the PIAP. The other activities remaining for the first quarter are the Development of the GESI Policy and Corporate Philosophy.

Taking us further into the launch, the Managing Director encouraged all staff to visit our Website regularly www.iswscorp.org.ng and the web-app www.imoconnectwithwash.com. He encouraged all staff to develop contents that can be added to the web as well as individual articles concerning WASH sector that can be posted on our website. In conclusion, the MD/ CEO thanked our WASH-Friendly Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for his avowed determination to reposition the WASH sector of Imo State.
