STAKEHOLDERS REVIEW AND VALIDATION OF THE POLICES, INSTITUTIONS AND REGULATIONS (PIR) ASSESSMENT MEETING HELD AT HEROE’S BEND HOTEL
The Stakeholders Review and Validation of the Polices, Institution and Regulations (PIR) Meeting was held at Hero’s Bend Hotel on Thursday 11th August, 2022. The meeting which was Organized by the Ministry of Power and Water Resources was to look into the Policy, Institution, and Regulations (PIR) Baseline Assessment Draft Report that will aid the development of strong foundations upon which the six (6) year project of Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply Sanitation and Hygiene (SURWASH) program will build it’s service delivery components.
In attendance at the forum includes; The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Power and Water Resources Lady Anne Dozie, the Permanent Secretary MPWR Nwaugo Nnenna (Mrs.), The SSA/Technical Assistant on WASH to the Governor Mrs. Theodora Igboaruka, The MD/CEO ISWSC Engr Emeka Ugoanyanwu ably Represented by the HOD Administrative Department Assumpta Okorie (Mrs.), The General Managers of RUWASSA & ISSTOWA, the Imo SPIU, and participants from various MDAs.
The program which started by 9:30am had a focus on Background of the Workshop, and Presentation of Policy, Institution & Regulation (PIR), which were both anchored by The SSA/Technical Assistant on WASH to the Governor Mrs. Theodora Igboaruka. The sessions looked into the essence of SURWASH, actions that led to the declaration of state of emergency in Nigeria’s WASH sector, the National Action Plan on Revitalization of WASH sector, SURWASH Program Objectives, what PIR is about, importance of the PIR, PIR Reform Areas etc.
The Draft PIR review was a Technical session which had an input from all invited participants.
At the end of the Program, a Communique was signed by all participants of the Review and Validation of the the Polices, Institution and Regulations (PIR) ASSESSMENT MEETING.
